INTERNET OUTLET *********************************************** Offered is a rare, vintage Adolphus Professional Accordeon Circa 1880 - 1900 Made in Germany. 10 Mother of Pearl topped Keys. Handpainted design all around the keyboard and on the key levers. There are 3 Wooden pull-knobs on one end for musical effect. There are also 3 round-ended, metal levers that allows for the air/sounds to come out when playing (see them on both sides of the red-mahogany colored side handle). The Adolphus Accordeon works and there are no holes detected in the bellows- we are able to hear musical notes as we operate it (but we do not know how to play songs!)- but it is a vintage instrument so we can not vouch if it is in perfect tune. The larger of the two cloth holding straps is broken. There are 8 Brass corner plates which state in duplicate (as the metal folds over the corners): "Adolphus Professional Accordeon - Made in Germany ". There are two 4" long, ornate, metal clasps that swivel to hold the bellows closed. The accordian is 13" x 6 1/2". The Accordian is in amazing condition for the age. There is one small nick on one side and a very small area of chips to the wood on one corner of the casing just above the handpainted design. Some of the gold-gilting decorative painting has worn over the past 100 years. The wood (painted grey) surface where the key levers close down onto has developed short splits. It was acquired by our client from her Mother in the 1960's. It belonged to her Grandmother. Her Grandmother passed in 1918. ******************************** BID VICTORIOUSLY ******************** Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!
